From Klein ISD student to Klein ISD educator. Talk about coming full circle! Mrs. Wood's journey from the halls of Lemm Elementary and Schindewolf Intermediate to Klein Collins High School has led her right back home, where she's now inspiring the next generation of scientists.
Armed with her Secondary Education degree from Sam Houston State University and a rock-solid passion for geology (literally – she LOVES rocks! 🪨), Mrs. Wood found her calling in teaching because it lets her explore every fascinating corner of the science universe. Her classroom is where curiosity meets discovery, and her enthusiasm for all things science is absolutely contagious!
When she's not busy making science come alive for her students, Mrs. Wood has quite the collection of hobbies that showcase her adventurous spirit! She's a master LEGO builder who creates epic NASA sets so impressive they once graced her classroom before her bookshelf staged a dramatic collapse. As a devoted Star Wars fan, she knows her way around galaxies far, far away, and thanks to her husband's introduction to the world of D&D, she's now rolling dice in epic adventures while also crafting virtual worlds in Minecraft.
Mrs. Wood's love story is pretty magical, too. She met her husband online during the peak of COVID, proving that even pandemics can't stop true love! Together, they're now raising their beautiful 9-month-old daughter while sharing their home with two amazing dogs: Pike, their gentle giant pitbull, and Bailey, their brilliant Australian Shepherd.
Mrs. Wood truly embodies the spirit of exploration – whether she's uncovering the mysteries of science with her students or discovering new worlds through games and family adventures! 🌟🔬✨

Born and raised in the heart of Houston's Fort Bend area, Officer Jesus Perez has traveled quite a journey to find his calling in law enforcement and education! Before discovering his passion for working with young people, he worked across multiple industries—from construction sites and landscaping to manufacturing. That turning point came while serving in an after-school program, where he quickly learned that kids' humor is absolutely unbeatable and found his professional sweet spot!
When his cousin, fellow Klein ISD Officer Ybarra, invited him to tackle the police academy together at the University of Houston, Officer Perez was all in. After completing the academy, he began his law enforcement career with another school district. When Chief Runnels joined Klein ISD, Officer Perez made the move to follow him, drawn by the chief's exceptional leadership. Six years later at Klein ISD and four years here at Kleb, he has become an invaluable member of our team.
When he's not keeping our campus safe, Officer Perez is living his best life! You'll find him immersed in epic video game adventures, binge-watching his favorite shows, or carefully curating his impressive Hot Wheels collection. He's also a Trading Card Game enthusiast because who doesn't love a good strategic battle?
But here's the coolest part: Officer Perez's girlfriend works for Texas Parks and Wildlife, and together they call Brazos Bend State Park home! Sharing their space with three cats named after characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender, they're building a life surrounded by nature. It's a perfect example of work-life balance done right!
Officer Perez continues to bring heart, dedication, and genuine care to our campus every single day!

Kleb is blessed to have such excellent assistant principals! Mr. Voss, Dr. Bellini, and Dr. Bennett have an undeniable passion for student and staff success, and we are grateful for their relentless drive to ensure Excellence in All, for All, by All! We love our assistant principals and the incredible leadership they bring to our Bearcub family every single day! 🐻🌟

From the Gateway City of St. Louis (home of the magnificent Arch!) to the heart of Spain and finally landing in Klein, Texas - Christy's journey reads like an adventure novel! After teaching English in Spain for three months, close friends convinced her to make Klein her home, and lucky for us, she did just that in 2009.
With her dual degree in Special Education from Grand Canyon University (after starting her collegiate journey at the University of Kansas), Christy has been an educational rockstar for an incredible 12 years! She's worn many teaching hats - from ACCESS classes to 6th and 8th grade ELA, KP, and Humanities, and even co-teaching Social Studies and Science. Talk about versatility!
But what truly sets Christy apart is her heart. She doesn't just teach curriculum; she nurtures souls. Her deep care for students' personal AND academic growth - both now and for their futures - makes her the kind of educator who changes lives forever.
When she's not motivating students or co-leading Kleb's Pentathlon, you'll find this hard-working, dedicated teacher curled up in her favorite chaise lounge, binge-watching Netflix thrillers with her beloved Mama (their bond is absolutely precious!). She's a mystery and fantasy book enthusiast who dominates her book club discussions. Watch out at game night, though. She's a fierce competitor at Scrabble, SkipBo, Phase 10, and all the Unos!
Fun fact: Christy once bowled a spectacular 175 in a tournament! 🎳
As a devoted caretaker, talented baker, and woman of faith, Christy brings her whole heart to everything she does. With a large, loving family including siblings, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, she knows the power of connection - which explains why her students feel so valued and supported!🌟
